Traditional Chinese Medicine Experts Forum promotes specialist development in Chinese medicine

The Clinical Division (CLNC) organised two sessions of its “Traditional Chinese Medicine Experts Forum” in September and December respectively, namely the “Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases Forum” and the “Chinese Medicine Pulmonary Diseases Forum”. Renowned Chinese medicine experts were invited as speakers to share their insights, facilitating academic exchange and the sharing of clinical experience, and enhancing public awareness of specialist Chinese medicine treatments.

The “Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases Forum” was officiated by Professor the Hon Chan Wing-kwong, Member of the Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and Dr. Ng Chi-sun, Assistant Commissioner for Chinese Medicine Development of the Health Bureau. Six experts in cardiovascular and cerebrovascular medicine, including Professor Li Min, Dean of Chinese Medicine, delivered keynote presentations. Drawing on nearly forty years of clinical practice, Professor Li shared her unique insights into the pathogenesis and pathology of Parkinson’s disease, as well as her clinical treatment strategies and prescribing approaches, offering highly valuable references for fellow attendees.

The “Chinese Medicine Pulmonary Diseases Forum” was jointly officiated by Professor Bian Zhaoxiang, Associate Vice-President (Clinical Chinese Medicine) of HKBU and Professor Li Min. Professor Peng Bo, Professor of Practice of CLNC, elaborated on Chinese medicine therapies and health maintenance for common respiratory diseases, and exchanged insights with the other five expert speakers, fostering academic advancement and clinical collaboration in the field of Chinese medicine for pulmonary diseases.
