PhD student excels in 2025 Madam Kwok Chung Bo Fun PhD Student Research Excellence Award

On 16 October, HKBU Graduate School hosted the fourth Madam Kwok Chung Bo Fun PhD Student Research Excellence Award Presentation Ceremony, bringing together scholars from across the university. Six outstanding PhD students were recognised for their exceptional research achievements, with Ms. Luo Hanyan from the School of Chinese Medicine winning the third runner-up award.

The ceremony was officiated by Mr. Raymond Kwok, representative of the Kwok Chung Bo Fun Charitable Fund, and Professor Alexander Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor of HKBU.

Following the ceremony, Ms. Luo showcased her research, conducted under the supervision of Professor Xu Jun, on the topic of “Dissecting the Anti-Obesity Components of Ginseng: How Ginseng Polysaccharides and Ginsenosides Target Gut Microbiota to Suppress High-Fat diet-Induced Obesity”. The study’s findings were published in the internationally renowned scientific journal, Journal of Advanced Research.

The School congratulates Ms. Luo and looks forward to her continued contributions to the field, inspired by her enthusiasm and passion for research.
