Great Success at Traditional Chinese Medicine Experts Forum

The “Traditional Chinese Medicine Experts Forum – Specialisation in Gynecological Disorders”, organised by the Clinical Division, was successfully held on 10 November. The forum brought together eight esteemed experts delivering insightful presentations on women’s reproductive health and common gynecological diseases.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Professor Chan Wing-kwong, MD, Member of the Legislative Council of the HKSAR; Dr. Ng Chi Sun, Acting Commissioner for Chinese Medicine Development of the Health Bureau; Dr. Wong Hung-ngan, Chairman of the Chinese Medicine Practitioners Board, Chinese Medicine Council of Hong Kong; Professor Lyu Aiping, Vice-President (Research and Development) and Acting Dean of Chinese Medicine, Hong Kong Baptist University; and Professor Li Min, Executive Associate Dean of Chinese Medicine.

In his opening speech, Professor Chan Wing-kwong pointed out that Hong Kong has a distinct advantage in Chinese Medicine gynecology, and the Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong will also offer gynecology specialist service. He remarked that esteemed Chinese Medicine gynaecology specialists were invited to share their invaluable clinical experiences in this forum, aiming to promote academic exchange and enhance the clinical standards of Chinese Medicine in Hong Kong for the benefit of patients.

Speaking at the ceremony, Professor Lyu Aiping expressed his gratification at the remarkable achievements of the School’s alumni. “Over the past two decades, the School has nurtured a substantial number of Chinese medicine professionals who have made significant contributions in their respective fields, greatly advancing the development and popularisation of Chinese medicine,” said Professor Lyu. He encouraged all the professionals in the Chinese medicine fields to uphold their original aspirations, strive for excellence, provide high-quality medical services to more patients, and join the School to further enhance the development of Chinese medicine.

The forum was a great success, attracting over 400 registered Chinese medicine practitioners, industry experts, faculty members and students. It not only facilitated knowledge exchange within the Chinese medicine community but also enhanced the public’s awareness of gynecological disorders.

The School will hold more expert forums to promote collaboration and knowledge exchange, driving the advancement of Chinese medicine and enhancing clinical standards within the field in Hong Kong.
