Fifteen students from the BCM programme formed a service team to provide remote health care to sufferers of cerebral palsy at the Xining Social Welfare Institute in Qinghai from 19 to 23 July. Under the supervision of their teachers, the students applied medical knowledge and skills acquired in the classroom to design a treatment plan for the patients and taught the caretakers and therapists of the Institute to incorporate Tui Na and Ai Jiu as therapeutic strategies to relax tense muscles and increase body mobility. The online service ended with a free health consultation for the local staff and a discussion on the health conditions of patients at the Institute with the medical experts at SCM.
