The VEC successfully hosted another session in its Global Virtual Exchange Masterclass Series, “How Multi-national Organisations Develop Global Learning Cultures and Tailor Talent Development Practices for Subsidiaries”.

The Virtual Exchange Centre (VEC) hosted another session in its Global Virtual Exchange Masterclass Series, “How Multi-national Organisations Develop Global Learning Cultures and Tailor Talent Development Practices for Subsidiaries,” in February, with the support of the HKBU Century Club. The event attracted 130 participants, including HKBU and SCE students, as well as online attendees from the U.S., Mexico, Honduras, and the Philippines.

The session featured Dr. Anthony Wong, Founder & Managing Consultant of SIMCO & Gente, and Ms. Nicole Lau, Program Director of SIMCO & Gente. Both shared their hands-on professional expertise in maximizing talent capital and nurturing a culture of learning, training, and development in multinational organisations. Through real-world case studies on a leading Swiss food and beverage manufacturer and a pan-Asian retail group, the speakers demonstrated effective strategies for balancing global standards with local needs through the adoption of three learning concepts and blended learning strategies. Participants learned practical frameworks, explored industry challenges, and gained insights into what drives successful learning cultures in multinational organisations.

After the speakers’ presentations, participants engaged in collaborative discussions, applying the presented frameworks to practical scenarios and exploring solutions to complex organisational challenges. This interactive exchange enabled students to strengthen their solution-oriented skills by applying theory to real-world situations.

Supported by the HKBU Century Club, VEC successfully launched its first Masterclass on influencer marketing in November 2025 and will host the final Masterclass on artificial intelligence (AI) and digitalization in March 2026. These Masterclasses aim to further enhance students’ academic growth and future-ready skills, while promoting intercultural dialogue and fostering intercultural competence within these fields.
