Prose collection: Jiang Yuqiu’s precious memories, a book edited by Dr Chu Siu-cheung, Senior Lecturer of the Language Centre, won an award in the 10th Hong Kong Book Prize competition.

Dr Chu is pleased to have received the award. He said it is his honour to edit this collection of articles by renowned Cantonese opera playwright in Hong Kong Jiang Yuqiu, and he considered the prize a recognition and encouragement for his work collecting and editing literary materials.

Prose collection: Jiang Yuqiu’s precious memories is an anthology and reorganisation by Dr Chu of Jiang’s 400 columns published in newspapers between 1964 and 1965. The articles reveal Jiang’s memories of his personal life and experiences, and also give his views on life, values, religion and art.

The Hong Kong Book Prize, co-organised by Radio Television Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Publishing Federation, promotes quality reading and recognises outstanding Chinese books.
