HKBU men’s squash and tennis teams won the second runner-up title in competitions organised by the Hong Kong University Sport Federation.
Men’s squash team beat HKU and clinched third place, a historic result. The two teams were neck and neck in strength; HKBU members persevered and won the deciding game. Miss Hon Sze-sze, Lecturer of the Department of Physical Education and the team leader, said that HKBU team members possess balanced and solid playing skills. In addition, the valuable guidance from the new coach Mr Chan Siu-sing boosted the confidence of team members and their determination to win.
The women’s squash team won the third runner-up prize with the participation of elite athlete and Physical Education and Recreation Management Year 1 student Chan Ho-ling.
HKBU men’s tennis team also performed outstandingly. Team members regularly receive comprehensive training and had an enhanced training session after the completion of the first semester which contributed to their winning of the third place in the intercollegiate competition.
