The Academy of Visual Arts was invited to join the Ink Asia 2016 event held from 16 to 18 December at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre to showcase the creative works of seven student and alumni artists.
The alumni were Angel Hui, Lam Yuk-yim, Ng Sum-chi and Frank Tang along with students Leung Wai-yan, Shum Kwan-yi and Wong Shun-yu.
Over 10,000 visitors were recorded at the event attesting to the fact that the Academy has great exposure on the international art arena, which mainly targets experts and professionals from across the globe such as artists, curators, critics and gallery owners and managers.
Meanwhile, Dr Daniel Lau, Associate Professor of the Academy, was invited by Hong Kong Museum of Art to conduct a calligraphy performance cum workshop entitled “Tapping the Metropolis Rhythm: Whole-body Rendition of Chinese Calligraphy” on 17 December.
