HKBU received a generous donation of HK$1 million from the Tan Siu Lin Foundation for the establishment of the Tan Siu Lin Foundation Perpetual Fund for the Free Chinese Medicine Consultation Day project. The fund will support the School of Chinese Medicine (SCM) of HKBU in organising free Chinese medicine consultation days to assist underprivileged members of the community by reducing their Chinese medicine expenses.
The University held a cheque presentation ceremony today (2 December) officiated by the Tan Siu Lin Foundation Chairman cum Luen Thai International Group Limited (LTIG) Founder and Chairman, Dr Tan Siu-lin; and HKBU President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Roland Chin.
Guests included Tan Siu Lin Foundation Vice-Chairman Dr Henry Tan; Secretary General Mr Li Hexie; Director of Chairman’s Office of LTIG Mr Christopher Ho; HKBU Vice-President (Teaching and Learning) Dr Albert Chau; Associate Vice-President Professor Bian Zhaoxiang; and Dean of SCM Professor Lu Aiping.
The SCM will hold free consultation days at its clinic, the Lui Seng Chun, in 2017 to provide free general consultation and Chinese medicine (granules) services for underprivileged community members in need.
