13 Sep 2016

The University was honoured once again with the Safety Performance Award (Other Industries) by the Hong Kong Occupational Safety and Health Council for its outstanding achievements in the field of occupational safety and health. It is the eighth year in a row that HKBU has won the award.

HKBU has been upholding a high standard of safety on campus and has developed a sound Health and Safety Management System to integrate safety into management and work practices. Through implementing a number of proactive monitoring programmes such as environmental hygiene and food safety, drinking water quality, indoor air quality, safety assessments on facilities, construction site and renovation work safety inspections and laboratory audits, the University strives to minimise the potential risks to members of the University community.

The Hong Kong Occupational Safety and Health Award, organised by the Occupational Safety and Health Council, Labour Department and 14 organisations, including government departments, labour unions, chambers and professional bodies, aims to recognise organisations with outstanding achievements in occupational safety and health and to encourage more companies to strive for excellence in occupational safety and health.
