03 Aug 2016

The Fifth Young Scholars Forum on Excavated Manuscripts, organised by HKBU Jao Tsung-I Academy of Sinology, was held on 28 and 29 July 2016.

Focusing on “Excavated Manuscripts and Material Culture”, the forum provided an opportunity for over 30 young scholars from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the US to discuss new archaeological discoveries, especially newly excavated manuscripts, such as volume 5 of the Tsinghua Bamboo Slips and volume 4 of the Peking University Bamboo Slips.

The forum attracted a number of students, faculty members as well as the public. The papers presented at the forum will be published by the Academy.

The Young Scholars Forum, established since 2012, serves as a platform for sharing the latest findings and exchanging ideas among young scholars in the field. The Sixth Young Scholars Forum will be organised by the School of Chinese, Renmin University of China in 2017.
