HKBU students win six awards in Inter-tertiary Institution Putonghua Recitation Contest

A total of six HKBU students grabbed awards at the Tenth Hong Kong Inter-tertiary Institution Putonghua Recitation Contest held on 19 March. This year, more than 600 students competed in the preliminary round with only 20 students selected for the solo recitation finals and 10 teams for group recitation finals.

 

In the prose solo recitation non-native speaker category, three Associate Degree students Leung Sze-hang, Pang Ha and Chan Hoi-ying won the championship, the second runner-up and the merit prize respectively.

 

In the prose solo recitation native speaker category, Jiang Ting (Media and Social Communication, Year 3) won the championship, Li Haoyang (Finance, Year 1) won the second runner-up and Liu Shuaiyi (Finance, Year 4) won the merit prize.

 

The University served as one of the organising committee members this year. The preparation work began in June 2015. Ms Stella Chau, Lecturer of the Language Centre, devoted herself to organising and arranging workshops and other activities for the participating students at HKBU.
