The HKBU team comprising around 650 members braced the cold weather and rain to compete in the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2016 last Sunday (17 January). It was the seventh time the University has joined the highly popular event. Among the runners who included staff, students and alumni, more than 115 of them challenged the Full Marathon, over 195 ran the Half Marathon and about 339 participated in the 10km race. In addition, HKBU was named one of the top 10 most supportive groups of the event.

The University community demonstrated its solidarity and caring spirit during the event. This year, around 105 staff and students formed marathon ambassadors to provide support to the runners by taking care of their belongings and forming cheer teams to encourage the HKBU runners.
