Dr Jacky Pow, Associate Head of the Department of Education Studies, was elected Secretary General of the International Society of Teacher Education for a term of three years. The inauguration ceremony was recently held at the 35th Annual Seminar of the Society hosted by Montclair State University, New Jersey, USA.

The International Society for Teacher Education (ISfTE) is an independent organisation of teacher educators free of external political or economic controls. With membership from over 95 countries, the Society is dedicated to the improvement of teacher education in all settings by fostering discussion, critical analysis, and dissemination of ideas from research and innovative practice in teacher education.
