The “All for Love, Love for All” Dr Agnes Chan and the Children of the World photography exhibition organised by the School of Communication is being held at the Koo Ming Kown Exhibition Gallery, Communication and Visual Arts Building, from 4 to 16 March. The exhibition showcases the photographs taken on her visits to nearly 20 war-torn or underdeveloped countries and cities in the past years. Her memoirs detailing these visits are also on display.

Dr Chan has been the UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for Japan since 1998. “The places I visited are so far away and are not deemed newsworthy, so the people there seem to be invisible,” said Dr Chan in her opening speech. She said she wants to be the voice for the children who are suffering around the world and hopes to raise public awareness through this exhibition.

Guests officiating at the opening ceremony were Mr Hitoshi Noda, Consul-General of Japan in Hong Kong; Professor Franklin Luk, Vice-President (Academic); Professor Huang Yu, Associate Vice-President and Dean of the School of Communication. Other honorable guests included Mrs Hitoshi Noda and Ms Kitty Chan, Head of Advocacy and Public Relations, Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF.

Dr Chan is currently Visiting Professor of the School of Communication. She has hosted a number of open talks and classes and shared her valuable experience with the HKBU community and the public. Dr Chan will revisit South Sudan in April.
