The College of International Education (CIE) held a launching ceremony in June to kick off its CIE Alumni Mentorship Programme which aims to invite alumni to provide both academic and work-related guidance to current students drawing on their common experience of college life at CIE.
“I am glad that over 150 alumni and students were successfully recruited to the Alumni Mentorship Programme. The programme not only strengthens the ties between the College, alumni and students, but it also expands the mission of whole person education to our alumni,” said Dr. Sam Lau, Director of CIE.
Mr. Chin Fung, a 2004 Associate Degree graduate and now a Family Psychologist, fondly recalled: “I received lots of encouragement and guidance from my teachers when I was studying psychology at CIE. Today, I am proud to pledge to be a 100% devoted mentor and to share my professional insights and experience with students.”
In addition to the meetings between the mentor and the mentee, CIE will organise sharing sessions, workshops, and other activities in order to broaden students’ horizons and enhance their interpersonal skills. Moreover, the College launched an alumni homepage on its new website and a CIE Alumni Association to strengthen connections with alumni. Through these platforms, alumni will receive the latest news on alumni events and the College.
