The School of Business has gained recognition from a prestigious international professional organisation for the third time in three years. It recently received the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) accreditation from the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) in recognition of its outstanding academic achievement, its determination in upholding high-quality business education and the pursuit of internationalisation as well as its professional position in maintaining close connections with the commercial sector. With the EQUIS accreditation, HKBU’s School of Business has joined the 1 per cent of business schools in the world that have triple accreditation (AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS), further reinforcing its reputation among international institutions.

 

Professor Stephen Cheung, Dean of the School of Business, welcomed the accreditation and said it was an important milestone for the School’s development. He said: “We are proud to join the EQUIS community of business schools throughout the world dedicated to high-quality business education, research and consultancy services. This international recognition attests to our commitment to strengthening and integrating business ethics, corporate governance and corporate social responsibility in our pedagogical and research agenda. The HKBU’s School of Business is now among the 1 per cent of the world’s business schools to be triple accredited.”

 

In addition to the EQUIS accreditation, the School gained full accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in 2010. In 2012, the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and the Master of Science in Business Management (MScBM) programmes offered by the School were accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA).
