The Academic Registry organised a Secondary School Principals’ Day last week (30 January) on the theme “Post-90s: Nature and Nurture”. Over 160 secondary principals and teachers from 100 secondary schools gathered to discuss the possible ways to unleash the potential of the Post 90s in order to assist them in creating a bright future.
Guests from different fields in the education sector were invited to share their insights at a plenary session presided over by Dr. So Kwok-sang, Academic Registrar. The guests were Dr. Philemon Choi, Honorary General Secretary of Breakthough Ltd. and Honorary Doctor of HKBU; Mr. Chang Cheuk-cheung, Group Director of Siu Group Ltd. and former Principal of Diocesan Boys’ School; and Mr. Francis Mak, Chief Editor of Digital Broadcasting Corporation Hong Kong and HKBU alumnus.
At the session, the participants examined the challenges faced by educators in nurturing Post 90s students to be leaders in the future and to understand the nature and characteristics of this generation.
Secondary school principals and teachers participated in different seminars offered by HKBU’s Faculties/Schools/Academy to strengthen ties and cooperation between secondary schools and the University. They also visited campus facilities such as the University Library, the Communication and Visual Arts Building, the School of Chinese Medicine, the Academy of Visual Arts and the College of International Education.
