Lam Tsz-fung (History, Year 2) won an Outstanding Young Leader Award and a Team Leadership Award at the AIA Foundation Young Leaders Development Programme 2012.
Tsz-fung was voted Outstanding Young Leader by his fellow participants, an honour he said he did not expect to win as all the 30 participants were elite students. He was also elected Chairman of the 15th AIA Young Leaders Alumni Association. He will lead the members of the Association in social service activities. Tsz-fung enjoyed getting to know and becoming friends with students from other universities. He said the programme taught him more about values and leadership qualities, and he will give back to society by applying what he learned.
Organised by the AIA Foundation and launched in 1996, the programme is a youth leadership training initiative. The theme for 2012 was Leaders with Excellence. Among the 30 students from seven universities chosen to participate were Chen Ying (Government and International Studies, Year 3) and Chik Wai-I (Pharmacy in Chinese Medicine, Year 2) of HKBU. Activities included a community leaders forum, leadership camp, leadership workshop, CEO roundtable, company visit, and sessions on project management and presentation.
