The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) introduced the "Hong Kong Licensing New Forces" zone at the Hong Kong International Licensing Show, featuring 15 innovative licensing projects by students from The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University, and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Aimed at nurturing young local talent, the showcase promotes emerging designers, new brands, and intellectual property development while exploring new licensing market opportunities. The projects address critical themes such as environmental protection, cultural preservation, and social development, utilizing diverse media including AR, VR, animation, illustration, interactive books, and board games. Highlighted works include Vaidūrya (a 2D/3D animation exploring war, pollution, and energy scarcity), Sacreature (a VR depiction of survival), and additional innovative pieces. The HKTDC seeks to enhance global industry connections and create new collaboration opportunities in Hong Kong’s licensing market.
Meanwhile, Hong Kong Baptist University’s Department of Interactive Media (IMD) emphasizes fostering creativity through this platform, encouraging students to express their inspirations and emotions through diverse media, marking a significant step in their professional growth.
