Kyung Hye Kim is Assistant Professor at Dongguk University, Seoul, South Korea. She conducts interdisciplinary research on the various ways in which translation impacts and shapes cross-cultural communication and challenges dominant discourses in society, particularly in the areas of news translation and audiovisual translation. She is author of Critical Discourse Analysis in Translation Studies, and co-editor of From Squid Game to Life on Mars: translating and receiving Korean media in the UK and British media in South Korea, Routledge Handbook of East Asian Translation, and Researching Translation in the Age of Technology and Global Conflict. Her articles have appeared in a wide range of international journals, including Discourse and Society, Perspectives, Museum Management and Curatorship, Target, and Pragmatics. She is a member of the Genealogies of Knowledge Research Network, and Chair of the Conference Committee of the International Association for Translation & Intercultural Studies (IATIS), and Chair of the International Cooperation Committee of the Korean Association for Translation Studies. She is also the co-director of Translation Research Summer School and International Research School for Media Translation and Digital Culture at Hong Kong Baptist University.
