With a view to identifying means to enhance the lift service on campus, a lift zoning trial (Lift Nos. 1 and 2 serving Levels 1 to 7 and Lift Nos. 3 and 4 serving Levels 1, 3, 5 and 8 to 13) was conducted at the Academic and Administration Building (AAB) in the past few months.
Based on the data collected and feedback received from users during the trial period, it is observed that the lift zoning arrangement could not bring about significant improvements to the overall lift waiting and travel time. The enhancement to user experience is very minimal. Therefore, Lift Nos. 1 to 4 will resume serving all floors at the AAB starting from 1 January 2024.
Apart from Lifts Nos. 1 to 4, students and staff are encouraged to utilise the escalators for travel between Levels 1 to 6 and use Lifts Nos. 5 to 8 to access different floors at the AAB.
Our Office will continue to review the utilisation of lifts and execute crowd control measures during peak hours.

為探討有效方法以改善校園的升降機服務,本處在過去數月於教學及行政大樓進行升降 機分層停站測試 (1 號及 2 號升降機服務 1 樓至 7 樓;3 號及 4 號升降機服務 1 樓、3 樓、5 樓、8 樓至 13 樓)。
根據測試期間收集的數據及校園使用者反映的意見,本處觀察到升降機分層停站措施並 未能在整體等候及乘搭升降機的時間上帶來顯著改善,對提升使用者體驗亦非常有限。 因此,由 2024 年 1 月 1 日起,教學及行政大樓 1 號至 4 號升降機將恢復為大樓的所有 樓層提供服務。
除使用 1 號至 4 號升降機外,本處鼓勵同學及教職員多使用扶手電梯往來教學及行政大樓 1 樓至 6 樓,並使用 5 號至 8 號升降機往來該大樓的不同樓層。
本處將會繼續檢視教學及行政大樓升降機的使用情況及於繁忙時段實施人流管理措施。
