The 3rd International Corporate Governance Conference

The Centre for Corporate Governance & Financial Policy of the School of Business organised its 3rd International Corporate Governance Conference on 16 and 17 June 2016. The themes of this interdisciplinary conference were sustainability, corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, and corruption. The aim was to bring on campus renowned academics with a long track record of publications in top-tier journals in the fields of Accounting, Finance, Economics, Management and Marketing so that they can interact with HKBU faculty members.
 
The event started with an open talk on the latest developments about Hong Kong Competitiveness by Christos Cabolis, Chief Economist at the IMD World Competitiveness Center. Over 70 HKBU faculty, students, and guests from private and public sectors outside the school attended the session. The overseas participants of the conference were Arturo Bris (IMD), Christos Cabolis (IMD), Gilles Hilary (INSEAD), Ioannis Ioannou (London Business School), Leonard Lee (National University of Singapore), Kai Li (University of British Columbia), and David M. Reeb (National University of Singapore), who were joined by Neale G. O’Connor, Erin So, Aris Stouraitis, Ray Wang and Kangkang Fu from HKBU, in presenting their latest research findings. Gilles Hilary from INSEAD also held a special seminar for HKBU research students.
